Dr. Steven Ovadia, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon whose practice focuses on gender-affirming surgery. One of the few surgeons to complete fellowships in both complex gender surgery and microsurgery at Johns Hopkins and craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery, Dr. Ovadia specializes in facial feminization surgery (FFS), top surgery, vaginoplasty, breast augmentation, and body contouring. Education & Training
Dr. Ovadia completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital / University of Miami before pursuing two advanced fellowships.
His first fellowship in Complex Gender Surgery and Microsurgery at Johns Hopkins focused on advanced gender-affirming procedures and reconstructive microsurgery. He then completed a second fellowship in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Dell Seton Medical Center, UT Austin, and UTMB, where he received extensive training in facial skeletal surgery and craniofacial reconstruction.
His fellowship training in craniofacial plastic surgery provides advanced experience with facial skeletal procedures such as forehead contouring, frontal sinus setback, jaw contouring, and chin contouring—techniques that are central to many facial feminization surgeries.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Ovadia served as Director of the Rutgers Center for Transgender Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he helped lead a multidisciplinary program dedicated to transgender healthcare.

Dr. Ovadia offers all major masculinizing chest surgery techniques, including double incision, keyhole, peri-areolar, inverted-T, and buttonhole top surgery, as well as sensory nerve preservation and drain-free techniques.
