Top Surgery in Connecticut
Dr. Jandali offers several different approaches to Top Surgery, with a focus on two primary techniques: Keyhole Top Surgery and Double Incision Top Surgery.
Those who have small chests can be good candidates for Keyhole Top Surgery. This procedure results in a masculine-looking chest with minimal scarring because the incision is made just along the edge of the areola. Chest tissue is removed through this small incision. Dr. Jandali also uses liposuction to ensure a smooth contour around the edges of the chest.
Double Incision Top Surgery is a great option for those who are medium or large chested. This procedure uses larger incisions that result in scars that are located just under the pectoral muscles. Depending on how much skin there is, Dr. Jandali may recommend the Inverted T (Anchor) Top Surgery method as an alternative. With either approach, the nipple can sometimes be left attached but often has to be removed and repositioned using a free nipple graft for best results.
Dr. Jandali’s patients will have surgical drains put in to prevent build-up of fluid inside the chest. The drains are usually removed at about 1 week post-op. Additionally, his patients wear a compression garment postoperatively to reduce swelling.
Gender-Affirming Breast Augmentation
Dr. Jandali has deep experience performing Breast Augmentation with breast implants and is knowledgeable about the nuances of gender-affirming Breast Augmentation. For example, many transgender patients require larger size breast implants than cis women.
Breast Augmentation can be performed in a single or staged procedure, depending on patient anatomy. With either approach, the small incision is made in the fold underneath the breast, so that scarring is inconspicuous.
In a staged procedure, tissue expanders are implanted first. The tissue expanders are slowly filled in the weeks after surgery. It takes a few months for the expanders to completely stretch the skin to the desired size. The tissue expanders are then removed at a second surgery and the final implants are placed.
Dr. Jandali’s high level of skill with Breast Augmentation using implants ensures that patients consistently get the results they were hoping for.
