Dr. Alexander Facque, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon in San Francisco, California who started providing gender-affirming care in 2012 and has worked exclusively with transgender and non-binary patients since 2020. Dr. Facque joined the Gender Confirmation Center’s team in September 2020 as a full-time Associate Surgeon specializing in Facial Gender Confirmation Surgery, Top Surgery and Body Contouring.
Dr. Facque earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of Puget Sound and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Facque was introduced to gender-affirming care during his residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Following residency, Dr. Facque completed a 1-year fellowship in Gender Surgery under Dr. Loren Schechter, one of the world’s foremost Gender Surgeons, at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Facque operates at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. Staff at St. Francis have received specialized training in trans sensitivity, pronoun usage and personalized support. Their transgender liaison nurse team works directly with patients whenever needed. Dr. Facque also operates at Vista Surgery Center, a fully accredited surgery center located in the same building as the Gender Confirmation Center’s office. Vista’s smaller size compared to a hospital offers a more intimate setting and a low patient-to-staff ratio that ensures highly personalized care.
Dr. Facque’s practice is focused on transmasculine and transfeminine Top Surgery, Non-Binary Top Surgery, Body Contouring, Facial Masculinization and Facial Feminization. Some procedures offered include, but are not limited to:

Surgery Costs
Pricing includes consultations before surgery and follow-up appointments after surgery, surgeon’s fee, operating room fees, anesthesia fee, implants and post-operative garments. Exact pricing can only be determined following a consultation.
Booking a Consultation
Dr. Facque offers FREE in-person and virtual consultations. The wait time for a consultation is approximately 1 month. Wait time for a surgery date is approximately 2-3 months following consultation.

Surgery Requirements
- Good physical and psychological health.
- Hormone therapy is not required.
- Dr. Facque uses informed consent and support letters from a mental health provider are not required. (If you’re using insurance, the insurance company will require letters.)
