Education and Training

Dr. Huynh completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at Emory University School of Medicine and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. He undertook a general surgery internship and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency through the Department of Surgery at Emory University. Following residency, he pursued fellowship training in facial aesthetic plastic surgery at The Ohio State University under world-renowned mentors. This combination of training in both oral and maxillofacial surgery and facial plastic surgery makes him one of the few surgeons with such a dual perspective on facial structure and aesthetics.

Dr. Huynh has lectured nationally on facial aesthetic surgery and has been recognized by regional lifestyle publications, including BestSelf and The Atlantan, for his work in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Huynh offers a wide range of facial feminization surgery (FFS) procedures, including hairline advancement, forehead contouring, brow lift, rhinoplasty, cheek augmentation, chin and jawline contouring, lip lift, tracheal shave, and eyelid surgery. A hallmark of his approach is the careful placement of incisions to minimize visible scarring, which contributes to results that look refined and natural. For example, during a lip lift he uses the bullhorn technique, positioning the incision at the base of the nose where it is hidden. In hairline advancement, he places the incision along the natural hairline so that it blends seamlessly as the area heals. Similarly, when performing a tracheal shave, he works through a small incision that is concealed in a natural crease of the neck. These details reflect Dr. Huynh’s commitment to achieving results that are both transformative and discreet.

Payment options include cash, check, credit card, and financing programs such as CareCredit. Most commercial insurance plans are also accepted, as well as Medicaid and Medicare.

Dr. Huynh operates at the Aesthetic Surgery Center of Atlanta, a private AAAHC-accredited facility. He also maintains hospital privileges at Northside Hospital Atlanta.

Consultations with Dr. Huynh

Consultations with Dr. Huynh are available in person, virtually, and by phone. The consultation fee is $150, which is applied toward the cost of surgery if you proceed. His practice serves a diverse patient base, with approximately 10–25% identifying as transgender or nonbinary. Gender-affirming intake forms, trained staff, and a dedicated LGBTQ+ liaison ensure that patients are welcomed into a safe and affirming environment. In addition to English, the practice can accommodate patients who speak Spanish, Korean, or Vietnamese.

Holding a Master’s degree in Visual Communication from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Minh combines creativity with strong organizational skills to support patients every step of the way. Passionate about helping transgender and non-binary patients, Minh ensures that everyone feels welcomed and respected in the practice. They assist with insurance questions, guide patients through treatment planning, and help make each experience as comfortable and personalized as possible.

Surgery Requirements

Dr. Huynh is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and follows WPATH guidelines for surgical readiness.
