Dr. Daniel Jacobs, MD is an award-winning and board-certified plastic surgeon in San Francisco who joined The Gender Confirmation Center in July, 2022. Dr. Jacobs has more than 30 years of plastic surgery experience and provides outstanding surgical care for transmasculine, transfeminine and non-binary patients.
Dr. Jacobs is proud to bring his Top Surgery skills to The Gender Confirmation Center, where transgender individuals are empowered to become the person they want to be. From the first interaction you have with Dr. Jacobs’ staff, to your final post-operative appointment, you’ll feel supported. You can expect gender-affirming intake forms, staff that has received transgender competency education and insurance specialists who know how to get you the coverage you deserve. All of the surgeons at The Gender Confirmation Center believe that it’s every person’s right to feel comfortable in their own body. This is why they use the Informed Consent model and do not require a letter from a therapist as a prerequisite to Top Surgery.
More About Dr. Jacobs
Dr. Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at U.C. Davis and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed a General Surgery residency at SC School of Medicine. Dr. Jacobs subsequently completed a Plastic Surgery residency at USC School of Medicine.

Gender-Affirming Breast Augmentation
Dr. Jacobs offers both saline and silicone implants and will discuss the pros and cons of each during your consultation. Incision location will largely depend on your preferences though Dr. Jacobs will be pleased to discuss all of your options with you.

Consultations with Dr. Jacobs
Dr. Jacobs offers FREE in-person and virtual consultations. During your consultation, Dr. Jacobs will take the time to fully understand your goals and then provide you with your his professional recommendations on your surgical options to help you reach those goals. He’ll also talk with you about what to expect before and after surgery, believing that the best outcomes are obtained when the patient understands the process.
The wait time for a consultation is approximately 1 month. Wait time for a surgery date is approximately 4-6 weeks following consultation.
Traveling to See Dr. Jacobs
If you’re coming from out of town for surgery, Dr. Jacobs’ staff will help coordinate your stay in San Francisco, from airport pick-up to accommodations. They can provide free travel vouchers and know of some great deals on local hotels so be sure to ask!

Dr. Jacobs does not accept Medicare at this time.
Surgery Requirements
- Good physical and psychological health
- Hormone therapy is not required.
- Dr. Jacobs uses informed consent and does not require support letters from a mental health provider (although your insurance will require letters.)
- Age 19+
