Dr. Rixt Luikenaar, MD, FACOG, is a gynecologist and the founder of Rebirth Health Center, a practice dedicated to serving transgender and other marginalized communities. With over 10,000 patients treated, Rebirth Health Center provides gender-affirming care, including primary, preventive, gynecological, and mental healthcare, as well as electrolysis. Dr. Luikenaar is WPATH-certified and co-editor of Transgynecology, a textbook published by Cambridge University Press.
Passionate about bodily autonomy, neurodiversity, and trauma-informed care, Dr. Luikenaar integrates innovative approaches into their practice, including psychedelic medicine. They are affiliated with the Crane Center for Transgender Surgery.
Dr. Luikenaar says that one of the biggest logistical challenges facing many patients is navigating the complexities of health insurance, explaining that obtaining health insurance is an important first step in receiving gender-affirming care in Utah and throughout the United States.
