Dr. Curtis Crane is a reconstructive urologist and plastic surgeon who performs FTM Phalloplasty and other gender surgeries in Austin, Texas. He is the only surgeon in the world who is trained as both a plastic surgeon and urologist and has completed fellowships in both reconstructive urology and gender reassignment surgery.
Dr. Crane has completed more than 10 years of post medical school surgical training in urology, reconstructive urology, and plastic surgery. He is a member of the Genito-urinary Reconstructive Society.
Dr. Crane has been performing transgender surgery procedures since 2005. He has completed a fellowship in SRS procedures in Ghent, Belgium with Dr. Monstrey, and has worked extensively with Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic in Belgrade, Serbia, and with Dr. Preecha in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Crane has taken over the practice of world renowned surgeon, Dr. Michael Brownstein in San Francisco. Dr. Brownstein has instructed Dr. Crane in his unique chest surgery technique which he has perfected during his 35+ years of practice.

Dr. Crane follows WPATH standards and surgery letters are required for minors and genital surgery, but not for adults seeking FTM top surgery. Additionally, hormone therapy is required for those seeking genital surgeries, but not for top surgery clients.
Wait list: None for orchiectomy; approximately 1 month for breast augmentation; 4-5 months for FTM top surgery; 12-14 months for metoidioplasty and phalloplasty.
Dr. Crane offers phone and in-person consultations. The consultation fee is $300. To book a surgery date, a deposit is required. Dr. Crane accepts CareCredit and insurance.
