About The Meltzer Clinic:
The Meltzer Clinic was founded by Dr. Toby Meltzer, one of the most experienced gender surgeons in the United States. Dr. Meltzer is board-certified in both General and Plastic Surgery. He served as an Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at OHSU from 1990 to 1996, before going into private practice. He started performing Vaginoplasty at OHSU in 1993. In 2003, Dr. Meltzer became the first surgeon in Arizona to specialize in Gender Surgery when he moved to Scottsdale to expand his practice. Over the years, Dr. Meltzer had declined dozens of requests from surgeons requesting his tutelage in Gender Surgery until 2015 when his workload became unsustainable and he brought on Dr. Ellie Zara Ley. To improve accessibility for his patients in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Meltzer partnered with Legacy Good Samaritan in 2019 to offer Gender Surgery once again in Portland. Patients can now choose between either Scottsdale or Portland for surgery dates.
